Hurricane Liza
The name Liza has been used for four tropical cyclones in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Liza is not to be confused with Lisa, which is used in the Atlantic Basin.
* 1961's Tropical Storm Liza - A minimal storm that did not affect land.
* 1968's Hurricane Liza - didn't hit Mexico, but caused damage out to sea.
* 1972's Tropical Storm Liza - A weak tropical storm that didn't affect land.
* 1976's Hurricane Liza - A category 4 hurricane that killed 600 people in northern Mexico.
* A new list of Pacific storm names was created in 1978, which prevented further uses of the name Liza.
